About Me

Couples Counselor in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, LA, Venice, Westside

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have a private practice in West Los Angeles, California. I am passionate about working with people and provide services for individuals, couples, children and teens. The power of therapy comes from having a good relationship with your therapist. My style is warm and engaged and I create a relaxed environment that is judgment free.

My Philosophy
Individuals are the experts on their own lives. I believe that therapists and clients are partners in the therapeutic process. My job as your therapist is to work collaboratively with you by combining your expertise on yourself and relationships with my assistance to help you gain insight, clarify what you want, and access your abilities to accomplish this. I tailor the process to suit each individual’s needs and goals. I am able to integrate psychotherapy, art therapy, and holistic health. I welcome individuals and couples of any sexual orientation and background.

I entered the field at a young age, starting with studying Psychology as an undergrad at NYU. I have worked within the field of mental health ever since. In my 10 years of training and experience I’ve had the opportunity to work in varied settings including outpatient services for adults, employment focused services for adults, substance abuse treatment centers, community mental health programs for children and families, therapeutic residential programs, non-public schools, and a youth correctional facility. These include Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, Echo Malibu substance abuse treatment center, The HELP Group, and Goddard Riverside of New York.

I received my BA in Psychology at New York University and completed additional coursework at Sydney University, NSW, Australia, and the School of Visual Arts, New York, NY. I completed my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy combined with Art Therapy at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, where I was a member of Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society. My thesis was entitled “An Exploration of the Influence of Family Art Therapy on Individual Treatment with a Child Diagnosed with Asperger’s Disorder.”

Professional Associations
I am a Clinical Member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), the Los Angeles Chapter, LACAMFT, and the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) and the Southern California Chapter, SoCalAATA. In order to provide the best services possible I continue to update my knowledge and expertise through attending continuing education courses and professional conferences and engaging in case consultations with colleagues.
